How to Maintain Your Blog Growth Even When You Are Too Busy

By Ashutosh Jha → Thursday, June 14, 2018
As we all know to become a successful blogger, we need to write blog post frequently and also need to maintain our blog in a good and efficient way. But apart being a blogger, we too have a family, friends, and other works. So sometimes it’s tuff to manage sufficient time for the blogging. So what to do? Today we’ll discuss this as how to manage our blog even when we’re too busy.

As a blogger, we always try to keep the frequency of blog post but at the same time we’re the owner of that site also. And being the owner of the site, we think ourselves as a business man too :)

It’s true when you’ll not write any blog post for few days your traffic will go comparatively down. But as a business man would you like this to happen? Would you adjust with the blog traffic, page rank and the most significant relation with your visitors? Of course NOT.

Who will want this? We know how much time and hard work it cost to rank the blog and in building an excellent blog, so no one will want to let it down just because you do not have sufficient time and you’re busy in some other urgent work.

Also Read: Avoid some common mistakes done by bloggers

When your blog will have good traffic, high ranking, nice readers and some popularity, you’ll always want to maintain it. But the truth is if you’re not give enough time on your blog, if you’re not writing posts regularly, your readers will move to some other blog and a huge loss will occur. So today we’re going to discuss how to maintain the rank, relationship with readers, traffic and popularity of blog even in the busy time.

How to maintain the growth of a blog in Busy Time?

Maintain a Blog Post Frequency

Never keep your blog inactive for long time like more than a week or two. If you’re doing this, believe me you’re having a huge loss and immediately you should write a post. If you haven’t posted on your blog for long time suppose say 2 week, slowly search engines will consider your blog as ideal or even dead sometime and your SERP will decrease and thus reduce in organic traffic. So if you’re too busy also, any how you should manage to write at least a post in a week.

Accept Guest Posts

This idea works awesome when you’re too busy. You’re busy and so you won’t be able to write on your blog frequently then why not to try some other alternative for the blog post? And what can be better than guest blogging. But remember unless you are not having good traffic, getting approached for guest posts is little bit difficult.
But in this scenario also you can get guest post sometime using few guests posting site. One of those is myblogguest. Using this site you can offer other bloggers to have a guest post on your blog and there is a chance that you may get on a blog having less traffic also or on those blog which is relatively new.

Check comments regularly and reply

This is the most important point. Even if you’re too busy, you should get at least 5-10 min a day to check your reader’s comment. You should never forget that these are the readers who have taken your blog to this level and if you want to be in the blogosphere, you need to have a good relationship with your readers.

And what can be a better way rather to reply in the comment? So get some time in a day to check your comments on the blog post or moderating the comment and reply them. By this way even if you’re not posting anything for few days also, you’ll be able to maintain a healthier relation with your valuable visitors.

Here I’ve maintained moderating the blog comments. Yes this is a good practice to avoid spam in the comments. Initially on this blog, comment moderation was not enabled and I got around 20 useless comments on my blog post.

Later I had to come and delete those. So comment moderation is a good practice per my view. And this will not take much time and even laptops are not required. You can do it through your phone and now for all the blogging platforms like Blogspot, Wordpress, Apps are in the market, so nothing to worry. Control your account using these apps.

Hire a freelance content writer

If you tried to get some time but still you’re not getting then you can spend few bucks to hire a freelance content writer. The main advantage of freelance content writer is - they charge less and you’ll be getting blog post regularly, so loss of visitors and SERP will not occur.

Check readers email and try to respond

Emails are the great way to be in touch with the people. If you’ve written a good post, you’ll receive few emails appreciating your effort and also there may be few emails asking some doubt or seeking some suggestion. You should reply to both. But if you’re not getting good time, no worry at least reply to those emails in which your readers have asked some doubts or need some expert advice. Because they trust you and so have sent you an email. But if you will not reply, they may approach some other bloggers and you’ll lose one of your valuable readers and remember these readers are your customers..right?

In these period most of the emails you will receive will be related to you itself as why you are not posting, or you’re having any problem something. So answer them properly with the proper reason and buy this way you will manage to keep your visitors with you even in busy times.

Final Words

It’s justifiable to get busy as we may have some other urgent work also but planning is very important. We need to plan everything in such a way that neither personal work nor business (blogging) should get impacted

And once you’re done with your work, come back and start working immediately. But if you were out from many days, you have to tell the blogosphere that you’re back. For this you can take help of blog commenting or social media. Get active on all these and by this way you can manage to say the world that you’ve come and now working actively on your blog. You may organize any contest on your blog or facebook fan page to get maximum attraction also.

Friends these were the best ideas to maintain a good blogging life even when you’re too busy. I know you must be having some great ideas about this, please do share those in comments. Also if you liked this post, a social sharing will be very much appreciable. Thanks and keep visiting.

Ahrefs Features- Top Metrics You should look for

In a nutshell, here is a list of activities where I use Ahrefs as one of my link building tools:

• Link Discovery
• To Check and analyze the Backlinks
• Anchor Phrase
• To check from where I am getting linked
• To Create Detailed Report
So below I am going to explain this great link building tool with the help of above points for which I use this tool.

1.Link Discovery

If you're planning to start a new link building campaign or started a new campaign then link discovery could get you dive into both easy and hard to replicate links as well as give you better insights on which method will work perfectly for you and your niche.

Ahrefs is a technical tool but the interface has been designed in such a way that even a non-technical person can also explore it very easily. It allows you to check Rank, referring page URLs, number of Internal and External links, link URL and other useful information.

For the user simplicity, you can use its filter option to check only those links which you want. Like you can sort the result by using all backlinks or backlinks/domain option.

2.To Check and analyze the Backlinks

The backlink checker tool of Ahrefs analyzes the links of your website from the external website. It will tell you how many other domains have linked your website. You can even do daily, monthly and yearly backlinks analysis.

Also Read: Top 3 Most powerful ways to promote your blog for free

These reports will give you the detailed analysis of the newly added links (if you have received any new) or have lost any links. New and Lost links may be analyzed for the period of up to 2 months.

The loss of links may occur due to any of the below reasons-

• The site got down where you were linked earlier.
• The article/page is no longer available where you were linked due to some reason.
• The owner of the website has removed your tag due to some particular reason.

If in your case, 3rd is the reason, you still having a chance to get those links back. You can contact the website owner and ask for the reason for removing the links and can request to link back again.

3. Anchor Phrase

Anchor phrases are something that is very important in the SEO of any website or blog. Anchor phrase is the same that you write inside or the text inside  <a>..</a> tag. For example in the link <a href="http://www.tricksroad.com">TricksRoad</a>,  TricksRoad is the anchor text for this link.

In earlier days, search engine was loving the sites having exact matched keywords in the anchor phrase. But now those days gone. Now if you've received 100 links from 100 different domains and all are using the same anchor tag then search engine will consider those links as spam. Instead you should use different variants of anchor phrases. Like you can try the different combination of anchor phrases while link building-

<a href=”http://www.tricksroad.com”>TricksRoad</a>
<a href=”http://www.tricksroad.com”>Tricks Road</a> etc.

Using this Ahrefs tool you can identify these links and if you find all the referring domains have used same anchor texts then you should request the website owner to edit the link or to remove it.

4.Pages/Domains linked you

Using Ahrefs tool you can get detailed report of all the pages and domains wherever you have received links. By using this report you can analyze the performance. If your links are not increasing you should check your content strategy and need to write attractive and useful content so that your fellow bloggers can link you.

5.Do an SEO Audit and Create Report

Ahrefs also allows you to run a full Crawl report on your blog and website and analyze each aspects of SEO. This report will give many results. The main points are as below-

•Titles/Descriptions for all articles
•H1/H2 tags used
•Errors accessing any pages
•Performance of pages

As you know H1/H2 tags are very much important in the SEO of any website so if you don't have sufficient amount of these tags, check your posts again and try to create. Similarly check for other errors as well and try to fix those errors.

6.Competitor Analysis

Ahrefs is one of the best tools to analyze the competitor performance. In the below report you can see I have compared my blog with one of the top blog in the industry backlinko.com and below is the performance. Using this comparison you can analyze other sites and can see how they are performing well and can work on your week points as well.

How to Promote Your Websites using Online Forums

By Ashutosh Jha →
Driving traffic to the website/blogs is the first step towards success. Earlier also I talked about the different ways of driving traffic to the blogs.

Tips To Promote Your Website

If you’ve not read those below are the links-

How to increase traffic using commenting on blog
How to increase traffic by submitting your site in high PR sites

There are other ways also to promote your blogs online for free. The most common is online forums. Several webmasters aren’t using this method but believe me it’s fabulous.

Just what you’ve to do is to select few forums from your niche and use the below techniques to promote your site easily. Below I’m giving you few most popular online forums’ name –

How to Promote Website Using Online Forums

Here I’m going to list few best techniques to get the best from the forums-

Complete your profile

This is the very basic and first step to promote your website. Join any site and complete your profile to 100%. A fully complete profile works great to show your identity. This attracts the visitor to spend some time on your profile.

Darren Rowse from Problogger says he follow or even checks only those people who have complete profile on the account as well as a real profile photo. So complete your profile after joining these forums and mention about yourself, your site name and details and your contact information.

Introduce yourself

Yes this is the second step you should follow. After completing your profile, introduce yourself, your website in a good way to the other members of the forum. This will help you a lot.

At least 20% of the active member will visit your site and if you have good content/product they may be your regular visitor also. In every forum there is a section called ‘Introduce Yourself’. Use this section very efficiently and ask for the review also.

People will visit your site and will tell you about the good and bad things about your site. This will give you many benefits-
  • Help you to increase the traffic
  • By review, you can improve your site
  • Help you to increase reputation

Focus on Quality not on Quantity

Whenever you’re joining any site or community first remember this ‘Give More Take Less’.

Yes if you’ll remember this, you’ll get the most of it. Use forum to help other and in this way people will start knowing you and slowly you will be a trusted name on those forums and people will start following you.

Talk influential

Just to increase the numbers of posts on the forums, don’t post anything. This is not going to help you. You’ve to talk in such a way that people will get influenced with your words. Else people will start ignoring you and you will simply waste your time there.

While writing any post or submitting any answers to the questions just think these are the people who will take your business to the next level and so write accordingly. Believe me this is going to work great for you.

Forum Signature

You must be thinking this is a very common method. Right? Yes this is. But are you using it to get the best out of it? Are you getting enough clicks on your signature link? No. Think about the reason.

There must some controversial and hot topic in every forum. Comment on those posts and you’ll see the effect. Similarly start a new thread on the hot and controversial topics and you’ll find the increase in number of clicks on your signature’s link.

Final Words

These are just 5 among many ways to promote your website using online forums. But I’m sure you are going to get lot of publicity through above methods.

Friends you must be using another or similar kind of tricks to get online exposure. Do share those. If you liked this post, a pin will be highly appreciable.

How To Choose A Good Domain Name For Your Blog

By Ashutosh Jha → Sunday, May 13, 2018
Hey, Trickers! Here we are back with another exciting article on How to choose a good domain name. So let’s start.

Choosing a good domain name is very important for the survival of the website no matter what type of website you have or you want to develop.

Most of the time people mainly focus on the design and development of the website, but forget about the domain name, hosting and some other required stuff (I will talk about the Hosting services later). It doesn't matter whether you are going to start a small blog or a large e-commerce application, their identity (here domain name) should be good enough and unique. Below I will discuss some of the points which one should consider while registering any domain name.

Before going to the steps to select the best domain name, I would like to what the domain name is. I found a very nice explanation of domain name on Wikipedia-

A domain name is a unique name that identifies an internet resource such as a website.

How To Choose A Good Domain Name: 6 Points to follow

It is the address of your dream, here website. So be careful to select the identity of your dream. I am sure after reading this article; you will be able to select a nice identity for you.

1. Domain name should be small

Choose a domain name which should not be too long. Try to choose small domain name so that your visitor can easily remember that. In the present scenario, it’s very difficult to get a domain name of a single word. Because either those are already used or some people might have booked that to sell them later at a higher price.

Generally, choose a domain name of length 1-67 character. This has been considered as an ideal. Also while choosing a domain name, think of your customer.

2. Think about your business

Before choosing any name, think about your business. Your domain name should match your business or idea in which you are going to start your venture. I have seen several times that people have started a technical forum and their domain name is not at all related to that. This will help your visitors to get at least an idea about the site. This is the second step after choosing a good template for your blogs/website.

3. Unique Domain name

Try to choose a unique domain name for your website. It should not be ambiguous. Also, Try to avoid confusion in that like doesn’t use plural names. Suppose if your domain name is www.johnstool.com. So if any user visits your site by just typing the URL, they might type www.johntool.com or www.john’stool.com. So in all these cases, there is a chance of losing your valuable customer.

Also, it is advisable not to use a hyphen (-) or underscore (_) in the domain name.

4. Use top-level domains

If you are trying to get some business online, like you are going to start a business where you want to generate some leads online or trying to start blogs, then it is good to have top level domains.

Prefer to use the .COM domains or if you are not getting .COM, you can go with .NET or .BIZ is also. But try to get a good .COM domain. Because several times it has been seen that people don’t have your full URL. And that time they simply try with .COM only. So in this case, you may lose your customers and it may go to your competitor.

Also, if you are creating for mobile users only, you may choose .MOBI also.

5. Have alternatives and backups

It has been seen that on the average there are 2.4 million domains are getting registered per month. So there is much chance that you will not find the domain name that you wanted. So just for this case, have some good backup for this. Try and think at least 3 names before searching on the internet. So if you will not get your first choice, you still have two more back-ups.

It’s not always necessary that you should choose your business’s name as your domain name. Even you can choose the name as the functional area of your business. Suppose you are having a company XYZ which deals in outsourcing, so it’s good to have a domain name with XYZ but even you can choose domain name related to outsourcing also.

6. Consider privacy policy and trademark names

Even though there is much dispute over the legality in the internet world, but even one can easily take you to the court if you have done any copyright violations. Even though they will not win but at least they can cut your pockets. So don’t register such domain which has a legal issue and not even a part of your domain name. Always register unique names.

I have seen several people registering the plural form of popular brand or with some modification with it. Like one of the most popular domain names on the internet is www.google.com, people register googler.com or agoogle.com. This is a bad practice. And any brand will not want such fishing with their brand names. So try to avoid such situations.

I have seen multiple people who started blogging just as hobby or passion but later they choose this as a full-time career and they are doing great this time.

This guide will show you the real situation of blogging and if you answer the mentioned questions well you are all set to start a new blog which will rock!!

Once you have started a blog, the very next thing that comes to mind is how to earn money from it. So today I am going to talk about the five best ways to monetize a blog.

How to monetize a blog

There are several ways to monetize a blog. It depends on niche to niche as which will work best. Earlier I wrote a complete blog post on how to make money from a blog. If you have not gone through that blog post, I would suggest you to have a look at that.

Today I am going to discuss five different ways to monetize a blog. I have tried all of these 5 and got success as well with few. So it depends on. If you are not getting expected result from some particular methods, don’t worry try other and I am sure anyone will click and will give the best.

So below are the five different ways on how to monetize a website.

How to Monetize a Blog with AdSense: AdSense

I mention AdSense first because it is one of the best known and most popular ad networks. Whenever any new blogger enters into the blogosphere AdSense is the first way they apply to monetize their blog. AdSense is a very trusted Ad network from Google and getting approval is very easy for it. I received approval for AdSense in the very first step. You can check my guide on how to get AdSense approval.

But you can find several people complaining about AdSense that they have decent traffic but still unable to earn well from it. This can be due to multiple reasons like bad ad placement, allowing all the ads, etc. You can read the below article to increase your earning from AdSense.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is the process of advertising some other’s product, and if anyone buys that product through your link, you will get some part of the sell. This commission can be from 3% to 70-80 % as well depending upon the product and affiliate company. I hope most of you must know about this. If not, just register to any affiliate site depending upon your niche and get the affiliate link.

This site can be any like Amazon, Click Bank, ShareASale, etc. Register on these sites and select the product you want to promote. Once done you will get an affiliate URL. You have to promote that URL. Once a person buys something from your link, you will make money. You can also read my experience about affiliate sell in the below article.

Build Email List

Building an email list is the best part of blogging. This shows you have these many loyal readers who read your blog regularly. As this is not the direct method of earning but make a great help in affiliate sales or any other CPA marketing.

Building an email list is not difficult to work. If you are posting quality content and offering good value to your readers, you can get a good number of the subscriber. Once you have subscribers, you can promote your affiliate links in the email and believe me this gives the best conversion. Read the below article to know how you can get more subscriber.

Text Ads

Text ads also play a crucial role in the earning. If you have good page views, you can earn much from text ads. The best thing with text ad is these ads don’t require extra spaces. It will be shown within your content itself. Infolinks, Kontera are the best text ad networks. You can check the below article to know more about Inline Text ads and networks.

One thing here is important to note is sometimes your visitor gets irritated with rolling text ads. So first decide whether you should use it or not and then only proceed.

Write reviews & Direct Ads

Once you feel you have grown and you are getting decent traffic, then you can try for the direct advertisement. Also, you can write reviews about the products and companies.

Once you get, good traffic people will start coming to you and will offer you the advertisements and can ask to write a review about their companies/products, etc. Here you can charge them depending upon the status of your blog.

Also, you can apply to some direct advertising networks like BuySellAds for the direct advertisements. Remember that these networks only approve once you have good traffic but once approved you will get lots of money.

Over to You

These are the five best ways to monetize a blog. There are much more ways to monetize a blog, but depending upon my experience, I have listed these five. Which method do you use to monetize your blog? Do share your experience with it in comments.

12 Tips and Secrets to Get Best AdSense Earning from Blog

By Ashutosh Jha → Sunday, April 8, 2018
For many bloggers, Google AdSense is the main source of income. But still I have heard a lot that even they are getting 1K+ visitors daily, they hardly manage to earn only a few dollars (in the range of $5-10) per month. This is not fair..right?

Also, you may have seen many bloggers who are making thousands of dollars from AdSense itself. There must be something that they are following and you don’t. You have really worked hard to get a good traffic for your content then why not try some few hours’ of work to get the best out of it. Overall we are trying to earn from the work/product which we have done :)

There are few basic things which I want to mention here before going into details like first select a beautiful design and make sure you are not doing any mistakes at the initial level.

Recommended: Which Is Better & Why - Single Topic Blog or Multi-Topic Blog

At this stage, I am considering that you are having an approved AdSense account and you are using their ads on your blog. If you don't have a fully AdSense approved account check tips to get AdSense approval. So below are few killer tips to get the best from AdSense account and I am sure after implementation you are going to earn best from it.

Responsive and ad-supported design

The very first requirement to earn from any ad is to have a good looking design of your blog and it should support the ads too. If you are having a design in which you can place the ad in the footer of the page, then how can you be sure that your user will go to the footer and will click on your ads? So select only those design which fulfills your blogging requirement and most importantly it should be responsive and should have space to place the ad units. You can read our article to select the best template for your blog here.

Use best keywords for your content

The selections of keywords are very important for the success of any online venture. In my previous article, I discussed the importance of keywords.

So before serving any ads on your site first check the density of keywords. You can find many keyword planner tools on the internet free of cost. Use any one of them and spend some time before selection. Just search in Google and you will find hundreds of such sites.

Below is some of the widely used website to plan the keywords-

But I will recommend you to use the Google AdWords to select the keywords at least initially, later you can move to any other.

Recommended: Tips To Check Keywords Ranking on Google

Take care of the tag: Content is King!

It’s only said that content is king, it has value. Just think what is the key from which you are trying to earn? It’s definitely your content. Due to the content, only people will come to your site so make your content rich blog. Rich content doesn't mean you will have anything, it should worth. I mean to say here is your content should have quality so that visitors will come to your blog. It’s well said that-

Your content needs to be likable, readable and shareable, to get maximum traffic.

From a survey, it has been found that more than a million blog post is getting posted on the net daily, so you should need to be unique to have readers. And most importantly you should write the content for your readers not for the search engines or any other stuff. Because once you will be able to build a relationship with your readers, another thing like popularity and money will come automatically.

Also, you should take care about the grammar, quality, and value of the content you write. You can also take help of tools to check grammar errors.

Write the blog post frequently (Daily or once in two days)

The frequency of posts on your blog should be good. You should write a blog daily or at least one in two days. This will help the search engine to keep active your blog and readers will get more engaged. The number of content you will have, the number of visitors you will get. From my personal experience, I am telling you, if any visitor searches for a particular topic and reaches out to your blog, after reading that, if you are having other effective posts also; at least they will visit them. So try to be regular while posting and keep the older blog active. Then put AdSense unit to each and every page to earn better.

Don’t spam

There are plenty of ways to get banned or penalized by Google. The most common are spamming. People try to spam the Google (highest market share in searching). Sometimes for few hours/days, they get success but the Google script is so will form that they will find you and can ban.

Do you want it? Of course not. You are well smart.

So don’t try to copy the content from any other site. Write your own view. Research well before writing and definitely you are going to get success.

Some days ago, I read a story on Facebook. A guy simply copied pasted some good post from top sites and made his own. Also, he used his AdSense and placed some ads and did some SEO and in 2 days made around $90. On the very third day, Google detected this and banned that person. So never let such case to happen.

Use correct AdSense format and styles

AdSense provides ads for the websites in several format sizes like-

  • Medium rectangle (300 x 250)
  • Large rectangle (336 x 280)
  • Leaderboard (728 x 90)
  • Large skyscraper (300 x 600)
  • Large leaderboard (970 x 90)
  • Banner (468 x 60)
  • Skyscraper (120x600)
  • Wide skyscraper (160x600)
  • Square (250 x 250)
  • Small square (200 x 200)

The below three are most famous and webmasters are widely using these-

  • 336x280 large rectangle
  • 300x250 medium rectangle
  • 160x600 wide skyscraper

Another successful format is the 728x15 horizontal ad links, which can be placed on your navigation bar. So depending upon the space and requirement, select those which suits your blog.

Also while creating the AdSense unit, consider the colors (background and fonts) of ads too. They should not look odd. Google Ads with no background color and no borders will always perform better. It’s a good practice to keep the background of ad similar to your page background.

Increase AdSense units but don’t overflow

If you have good content on a page, increase the number of ad units, but don’t flood it. At most, you can use three units on a page, two AdSense search boxes and one unit of ad links. To earn more, always use at least one AdSense search box.

Also, your content should be written in reader perspective, not the AdSense prospective. I am repeating this line because; when bloggers start getting dollars they mainly focus on ads, not the content. But you should remember, due to content itself, you have received ads.

Use AdSense preview tool

To avoid any issue like ads are not looking good or they are not at the correct place, you can take help of AdSense preview tool. There are several such tools available on the internet free of cost using which you can preview the ad unit before actually placing it. Few of them are-

  • Google AdSense Sandbox
  • Webmaster tips

By Ashutosh Jha → Thursday, January 4, 2018
This How to do Website Flipping post is a guest post by Abhishek, a website flipper, Blogger and Internet Marketer. If you also want to write guest post at TricksRoad, Please check this.

Making money online was like a big scam for me initially and I was avoiding this. One day i was reading a blog post about website flipping and thought to give a try.

I was not having much money to buy a blog that time and sell it after modification so thought to start a blog. This is my story of making a simple blog and selling it in $400 in just 2 month.

I will try to make you understand each and every step I followed and you can do the same to earn money online. It took me couple of months but I can say this for sure that now I can make such blogs in a month also.

how to website flipping

So, if you are an experience blogger then it will be easy for you to do so but if you are new then also you can do the same. The only difference is just you will take some extra time like me but you will earn for sure.

So let's start with the exactly path that I did from scratch. I am sure this guide on How to do website flipping will help you in your journey.

How I sold a 2 months old blog for $400: A Complete Guide on Website Flipping

These are exactly the same methods that I followed some time ago and still following almost same. You can also follow these methods and get success. Follow these footprints and get success in website flipping. So lets start with Website Flipping secrets.

1. Niche Selection

This was most confusing and hard task for me. I was quite confused while niche selection. First I was thinking to start an entertainment blog as those are easy to build but as my main aim was to earn money from selling it so I dropped that idea. Then the second priority was technical blog for me and as this is a global topic so chances are there to get good profit.

Since technology is a large domain and one of the most competitive so I selected just a small niche from technology domain and started working on it. The niche that I selected was related to Windows operating system. I was providing tips and tricks for Windows OS and also was writing blog posts to solve issues related to windows like how to install it, how to boot it like this. To decide the niche and topics, I took around 5 days.

2. Domain Name Selection

The next step was to select a good domain name for the site and finally I decided to go with EMD (exact matched domain) as this helps a lot in ranking as the main keyword/part of it is already the domain name. Sorry, I can't disclose the name but it was a three word name and was quite good. It was a .com domain as top level domains get more preference and also, people have the tendency to use .com as a default address.

3. Theme Selection and Hosting

Again I was on the verge where I had to decide whether I should go with rich WordPress or easy Blogger. Since my main aim was to sell the blog and so i decided to go with WordPress and bought a single WordPress Godaddy Hosting. It is best in less range for a single website. You can also check BlueHost for best hosting.

Note: Don't worry if you don't want to spend on hosting and want to use Blogger then also you are good to go. Usually you'll not find buyers for a blog which is hosted on Blogger platform and if you'll find also the price that you'll find will be less. I have sold one blog in initial days which was on Blogger :) but as said got very little money.

Then I selected a very basic theme. Actually it was a premium theme but got free from one of the website. So brand new blog was live in a week (I know I took more time and you can do this all in a day as well.) But later I boost up my selves and did the other thing fast.

4. Creating Pages and Initial Articles

Right after the blog was live; I created the basic pages like About Us, Contact, Privacy etc. and also published couple of articles of around 800 words each. This helped in initial crawling before submitting to the directories as some directory manually analyzes your site before approving.

5. Submitting Site to Search Engines and Directory

This is the first step towards traffic. I manually enter the site into all the major search engines like Google, yahoo, Bing, ask and few more. Also I submitted manually in an around 50 high PR directory to improve the ranking of my blog.

Also Check: 200+ High PR Web 2.0 Sites List

I would suggest you to submit in more as some of those may not approve you or many take more time like a month or even more to approve. So the more you will target the better result you'll get.

6. Number and Quality of articles I published

My targeted was to publish 2 articles (guide/tips/tricks) each week and 2 how to resolve article each week. So total 4 articles a week. I was writing tips & tricks articles of around 700-800 words and How to resolve article depending on the issues. I was including screenshots and videos wherever required.

So in couple of months I was having around 30 articles and all were highly targeted to the niche.

7. How I got Initial Traffic

As my domain was a brand new domain and so getting traffic directly from search engine was not possible. So I worked on social medias and blog commenting. I was mainly targeting Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Stumble Upon. These are awesome social sites for the traffic.

Try to post in different groups on Facebook and Google+ manually but if you don't have time use HootSuite. It's awesome tool to schedule your post on social media. Even the free version of Hootsuite allows you to post on 3 social media sites.

The most important thing to get more traffic is to engage the people. If somebody liked your post, don't forget to thank them and try to involve in conversation.

Also, I worked simultaneously on On-Page SEO, Off-Page SEO and started getting traffic.

8. I made around 1500+ email lists in just 1.5 Months

Yes! That's correct. I added the subscription box after around 15 days since the time my blog was live. But you should not make this mistake. Try to build email list from the first day itself. This will help you to increase traffic and also will help you to earn money.

how to grow email list

1500+ email id in just 1.5 months is not bad at all. What i used to build this list is the call to action forms after each post and i appealed my reader at the end of the post to subscribe. This helped me a lot to build this list.

Also Read: How to Convert Visitors into Loyal Readers

Apart from this, I used content locker in "How to resolve section". If you are providing quality information then believe me your user will not hesitate to enter email id to access the resolution. My 55% of the email was from content locker.

9. Monetization

The very important step in online business, site monetization. Nobody will buy a site which generates nothing. My primary focus was on Google AdSense and affiliate marketing. AdSense was the major contributor of my earning from that site but as I sold the site just in 2 month so didn't receive any payment till that time (AdSense release payment after 20th of every month). I entered the AdSense code after 15 days since the time blog was live.

10. Sold the site for $400 in 2 months

Finally as my main aim was to test flipping that blog and earn money so I put the blog for sell and in 5 days found a buyer and we finalized on $400. This was not a bad deal at all considering the time and money i spent on the blog.

In total I spent $1.5 for a .com domain and $2 for hosting (2 months). So total I spent around $3.5 for that blog.

But still I think if I could have worked more and had not sold the blog too early then I might have received around $1k. Below are few points that I want to mention depending upon my experience and if you want to do flipping you must read these.

learn from mistakes and grow

1. Post more articles. Posting 2-3 articles a week is not enough if your aim is just selling the site too fast.
2. Install Analytic from the first day as Buyers will ask you to add them in Analytics first.
3. Keep the proof of each earning no matter how small those are. You have to give proof to buyers.
4. Start collecting Email ids from the first day itself.
5. Make social profile for your blog. I made this mistake by not making any Facebook, Google+ pages.
6. Most importantly don't sell in just 2 months as I did. Take some time. I did because I wanted instant money.

Now it’s your turn!!

That's all. This was my journey for the first website flipping. I bought and sold many blogs after that and I love to do it. Currently I don't have any live blog but just few days ago I bought a new domain and now will start working on it. But this time I am planning to make it a long time blog but not sure I would be able to. Because each time I think to keep for long time but gets distracted in the half way and sell that :)

I would love to know about your experience about website flipping. Have you sold any? Please do let me know your experience/thought/suggestion in comment. Also, if you have any doubt in this feel free to ask.

5 Best Techniques to Increase Domain Authority (DA) of a Website

By Ashutosh Jha → Tuesday, October 24, 2017
Getting traffic to a website is the most important task for any blogger and webmaster. As traffic depends on many factors, most of us work on SEO mainly, which includes both on page optimization and off page optimization to pull traffic from search engines.

SEO helps a lot to gain initial traffic from search engines and make your website popular. But the old content and optimization techniques won't help you to get traffic in the long run.

So now what?

Here come Domain Authority and Page Rank in the picture. Since Google has stopped updating Page Rank now and so Domain Authority has become one of the most important factors that decide the quality of a blog or websites. Now bloggers mainly focus on increasing domain authority.

how-to-increase-domain-authority-of-a-blog

Domain Authority (DA) is a metrics that has been developed by MOZ. It is one of the most popular parameters of SEO. The higher the DA, the more you will get ranked in search engines and hence the more traffic you get.

But domain authority is not something that you can increase in a day or week. As you know, this is critical for ranking, and so many factors have been considered while deciding DA. If you work on all those, definitely you will get higher domain authority.

So now the obvious question is how to increase domain authority?

In this guide, I am going to tell you the five most important steps to increase domain authority of a website. But before going to those steps to increase domain authority, let me tell you few facts about domain authority.

Domain Authority (DA)

The term DA is a self-explanatory word which decides the popularity of a domain. Below are the few facts about domain authority which will help you to understand domain authority better.

1. DA is based on many factors like the link profile such as how many links are pointing to your website.

2. You can't increase domain authority in a day or week. It takes time but if you will follow my approach, you can get higher domain authority.

3. MOZ updates domain authority frequently. A couple of months ago they updated the domain authority and TricksRoad's DA got increased from 19 to 23. So if you will work on increasing domain authority, you will get the result quickly.

4. Domain authority is scaled between 1 and 100 and depending upon the parameters your website can have any value between 1 and 100. Gaining a DA of 100 is tough. Sites like Facebook, Google, and Twitter are having DA number of 100. But don't get disappointed if you are not hitting 100.

So how to increase your Domain Authority?

How to Improve Domain Authority

How to improve domain authority of a blog or website is a very common question that is being asked. So in this article, I am going to give you an answer to this question- How you can increase domain authority of a website.

To increase the domain authority of a website first, you should take care of the link profile of the site. Here I mean to say you should do the below two things-

1. Remove Bad Links pointing to your website: Here you should remove the bad links pointing to your website. Bad links can harm your SEO and so need to consider immediately. You can take help of online tools to check the links to your site.

2. Get High-quality links: Obviously, as we know links plays a critical role in SEO. So try to get as many high-quality links as possible. You can do this in a couple of ways. Either you can hire an agency to do this. But this method is bit costly and have risks. The second method is creating high-quality contents and those contents which are shareable and linkable. This can include interviews, expert roundups, guest posts, etc. These kinds of posts are highly shareable and linkable. This second method is completely white hat technique, and there is hardly a chance of getting penalized.

How to increase Domain Authority of a Website? - 5 Best Techniques

So now have a look at the five best methods to increase the domain authority of a website.

1. Gain high-quality links

This is the very first and critical step to increase domain authority. High-quality links will not only help you to increase the domain authority but also it will help you to get higher rank in search engine. There are many ways using which you can get high-quality links. For example, you can write a guest post on some high PR and DA blogs. Also, you can get some quality links from the well-established forums. You can read my article how to get best from forums for more details. Even you can ask your fellow bloggers to give you links.

Also Read: 3 Powerful & Unconventional Link Building Techniques

But again beware while creating links and you should not create low-quality links as that will decrease the authority and SERP of your blog. If you have low-quality links then immediately you need to work to get those removed.

2. Create Linkable & Shareable Contents

This has a direct impact on the domain authority. DA directly depends on your content. Increasing DA is indirectly related to content marketing, and for content marketing, you should have linkable and shareable content so that others should get attracted to share your articles and even other bloggers should use your article link on their blog for reference.

If you are writing articles that have enough information and are well structured then even, it can appear in Google news. What best else can happen apart from this. Sometimes ago I wrote a complete guide on How to make money from a blog. Here I listed around 21 proven methods of earning as a blogger and it was a 2100+ words guide which was shared by a lot of bloggers.

Like this, you should also try to write a complete guide which anyone can follow and be sure to get lots of links and share. This is going to help a lot while increasing DA of your blog.

3. Deep Internal Linking

Increasing DA of a blog or website completely depends on the SEO of a website. It almost considers all the parameters of the search engine optimization. As we know, SEO consists of both on page optimization and off page optimization. On the page, optimization includes well-formed URL, Title of the post, Meta Tag, Description and internal article linking. Internal linking plays a vital role in on-page SEO optimization of a blog. Also, it increases the page views and average time per page views as you are giving your readers some solid reason by providing different good quality articles for reading through internal linking.

Off-page optimization includes link building (this is the example of internal linking), social sharing, etc. When you are building any website or writing a new post, make sure you are linking your internal pages/old blog posts to each other. By this way, you are telling Google that all your internal pages and posts are equally important and this will help you to rank well. Below I am listing some checkpoints which you can follow while interlinking the posts-

1. Interlink your pages and posts with relevant keywords. As you can see in this article, I have done.

2. Use a different variation of keywords while interlinking. Make sure you are not using the same anchor tag again and again.

3. Don't only link your pages and posts. Also, try to link few external high-quality pages and posts. For example, you are writing an article about "How to create a website" and you found someone else has written a quality post then give a link as a reference. Make sure you are only linking high-quality sites for external links.

4. Also, make sure all the links that you have used are working properly.

4. Regularly Remove Bad Links

If you are frequent to social media, you must have seen many bloggers and webmasters complaining about the unusual traffic and links from some spam sites or irrelevant sites. This traffic and links decrease your SERP and hence the authority as well.

The best ways to get protected from such types of issues are continuously tracking your site. You can do Blog Audit for this. Don't worry you can do blog Audit for FREE as well with the help of internet marketing tools like Ahrefs, GSA, etc.

Analyze all your backlinks and traffic source thoroughly and if you find any unusual traffic or links, remove it immediately. There are couple of ways using which you can get those links removed very quickly-

1. On some websites, you will find a link, "Request to remove". Fill that form and request to take off your blog's link.

2. E-mail to the owner of the blog or website, explain the issue and request to remove the links. By this way, you can be safe from any penalty from search engines.

Also by doing periodic link cleaning, you'll gain a huge benefit. This is something that many bloggers and webmasters don't do. Many bloggers do only when they receive a message in webmaster tool. So don't wait for the Google to tell you/penalize you, do quick scanning frequently.

5. Patient! Domain Age Matters a Lot

Domain age also affects the domain authority and higher the domain age the high domain authority you will receive if you have good SEO. Domain age doesn't come more in the picture, but it does affect the domain authority. I have seen many old areas having very high DA. But again this is subjected to the above conditions.

How to make a widget sticky in Blogger

By Ashutosh Jha →
Blogger is not much customizable and so bloggers working at the blogger platform has to compromise with many features. But the good thing is that with some little tweaks you can attain some of the cool features those are not available by default in blogger.

Recently, I was trying to make TricksRoad Facebook page widget sticky to get some like directly from my blog and after searching a lot for the solution, finally I implemented.

As you can see the Facebook widget in the sidebar is now sticky and if you are at the bottom of the page also, that sticky widget will be shown to you.

In this article, I am going to show you how to make a widget sticky in blogger sidebar. Make sticky widget in blogger is an easy process and doesn’t involve many changes.

So let’s start with an easy process to make a widget sticky in blogger sidebar.

How to make a widget sticky in blogger sidebar?

Here are some of the easy methods to make a widget sticky in the blogger sidebar-

• Sign in to your blogger dashboard and select the blog where you want to make change (in case you have multiple blogs attached)

• Scroll down and click on the Layout tab
• Now you will have the layout of your blog. Just choose the sidebar widget (or the widget you want) you want to make sticky (in our case, it is Facebook like widget)

• Just copy the name of the widget (to be precise the title; in our case, it is “like us on Facebook”)

• Now move the tab called Template and choose Edit HTML option to move to the blog code.

• In the editor, do a ctrl+F and search the name of the widget you want to make sticky (which you copied). In my case, it is “Like us on facebook”.

• Once you will find that widget in the code, copy the ID of the widget. Usually, it will be something like HTML5 or HTML6 etc. Copy it!

• Again do a ctrl+F and search for </head>

• Now paste the below code above the </head> tag and change the widget ID with the ID you copied-

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
    var ks_widget_top = $('#widget Id').offset().top;
    var ks_sticky_widgets = function(){
        var ks_current_top = $(window).scrollTop();

        if (ks_current_top > ks_widget_top) {
          $('#widget Id').css({ 'position': 'fixed', 'top':0, 'z-index':999999 });
        } else {
            $('#widget Id').css({ 'position': 'relative' });
        }
    };
    ks_sticky_widgets();
      $(window).scroll(function() {
         ks_sticky_widgets();
    });
});</script>

Make sure to replace the Widget ID with the ID you copied in earlier steps. One more thing you should note here is, if your blog already has the ajax.googleapis.com then don’t paste the below line else it won’t work.

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Now just save your code and you are good to go. Check your blog and the widget you have made sticky will be showing even when you will scroll to the bottom.

Benefits of making a sidebar widget sticky

Here are some of the advantages of making a sidebar widget sticky in blogger-

• Gets more impressions
• Will be visible to the visitor throughout
• It will attract more clicks
• Your sales/conversion can be increased
• Page Views can be increased and much more…

Wrapping it up!

This was all about how to make a widget sticky in the blogger sidebar. This is the easiest way to make sidebar widget sticky in blogger.

If you are looking for some more leads or need more impression on some particular ads or any widget in your blogger blog, you can use this simple method to make a widget sticky in blogger.

Also, it is advisable to not make Google AdSense ads sticky as it is against AdSense policy. But you can make your affiliate banners sticky to get more views, clicks, and sales.

Do try to make a sticky widget in blogger sidebar and let me know if you will face any issue.
